Hair dates are the best. Last week I visited Salon Ziba with darling Sarah, for a date night hair blowout. A modern-chic salon located on 485 6th Avenue (at 12th St.), the salon offers a range of hair & beauty services from blowouts to color corrections to balayage (luv).   The theme of the eve was date night hair, which you know is my ulimate fav…

Beyonce’s locks on inauguration day 2013 were fabulush x 100. One of my fav ways to style my hair is in a medium-large, loose, wavy look. If you have a slight wave to your hair (like I do),  then you can get this look without the use of a curling iron or curlers. Here’s how to get her date night hair:

I cut & color my hair approx 3 times a year. Maybe even 4 times depending on the color of my highlights, but my hair is pretty low maintenance which is why I can wait so long between salon trips. I prefer balayage most of the time, because the grow out is subtle and the color lasts longer for me. Muze Salon, located in a newly renovated, huge space in Chelsea,  offers this service so I was happy to try them out!

Fabulush hair: after  private luxe hair treatment & gorg blow out.

Located on the uber chic Rue Tronchet in Paris (think Madison Ave, dahlings), the Leonor Greyl Salon is known for offering luxe hair care services & products. Thanks to Julia (All About The Pretty), I received an amazing scalp revitalizing treatment & massage, along with a fantastic blow out.

With dahling Erika (MakeupBag). Getting ready for our treatments!

Every 3 months or so I get a root touch up & partial highlights done in a luscious shade of caramel. Seriously, hair should always be date night ready, right?! Last week I had the opp to get partial highlights done at Midoma Salon in Midtown West, located at 545 8th ave. The salon is airy & bright with various NYC artists’ beautiful artwork displayed on the walls. My colorist was Sarah, who gave me a consultation before getting to work on my locks.  She was super efficient, gave me the shade I requested & was very friendly. Afterwards I had my hair blown out by Michael, fabulush owner of the salon (who also gave me great tips for my upcoming trip to Europe). With every treatment or color service, blowouts are given at a 30% reduced rate. Totes a good deal for gorgeous date night hair!

Ok, so I forgot to take a before pic, but you dolls remember my last hair post HERE right?

My Sorel boots have been life saving this winter…

p.s. the post before this one shows my hair before getting my highlights retouched & a double trim – like 2 hair cuts in one so you can get that mini 60′s chic poof going on in the back!

I pretty much style my hair the same way for my date nights. While putting on my makeup, I spray a light conditioner throughout my mane, put it up in a medium-tight bun, get dressed, then let it loose before I head out the door (with a quick upide down toss, tousle & teeny bit of holding spray). Voila – big, soft, sultry waves!

However, since I’m in the mood to try out some new do’s, my hair stylist has lovingly agreed to a date night hair video for MG! I am sooo excited to film it!!! Until then, the pretties @ realbeauty.com have done a sweet job covering various gorgeous hair styles for all of us dahlings who still partake in date nights!
