  1. Watch a film on rooftop downtown. Downtown Rooftop Films hosts indie film screenings all over the city and this weekend it will be in LES. For tix,  Open Road Rooftop (350 Grand St, bw Essex & Ludlow St).
  2. Get your Comme des fix. With tons of items listed at 50-70% off, you can totes update your spring date night wardy. Look for printed skirts, floral tops & structured jackets. Located at 127 W 30th St.
  3. Make the city your personal gym. When the weather is gorg (like it will be this weekend) Midtown Chap & I like to plan different runs through our fav neighborhoods in Manhattan.   1. Cheer on the NYC fav at the Kentucky Derby.  The Bell House NY is hosting a full day of Derby fun ($10 at door). Watch 3-year-old colt Verrazano, named after the NYC bridge, race in this Saturday’s Kentucky Derby (hope he wins!). If you’ll be watching at home, use MG’s fabulush cocktail recipes as a guide to making some light & delish sips.
  2. Get your foodie on, Asian style. The Lucky Rice Festival features a menu of inventive Asian dishes by 20 master chefs. Sip on delish cocktails while tasting even more delish food.
  3. Glam up your apartment decor. Add some Hollywood chic to an old chair by spray painting the legs a brushed silver. Or, why not visit your fabric store (or the garment district in Midtown), and pick up a few yards of a brightly colored or boldly printed fabric for some spring flair. Fold the fabric and use as a duvet for your bed or throw for your sofa. Easy x 100 ;-)

  3. View the pretty flowers. The Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival is a 2-day fair featuring a fashion show, workshops & tea ceremonies. Located at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

  1. Check out the Spring Fair in Soho. Just in time for Mother’s Day, head down to 154 Grand St to shop for handmade jewelry & discounted clothing.
  2. Update your online dating profile for Spring. Add a new picture to your profile. You’d be surprised at how many profile photos are over a year old! Keep your pics fresh dolls & those dates will come.
  3. Spray paint some color in your home office. I have an eggplant bookcase that is crying for something bright. I’ll be shopping for tangerine colored spray paint for the backboard of the bookcase. Will share deets on how it turns out ;-)

  1. Shop a pretty Spring sample sale! Nicole Miller (260 5th Ave, Avenue Showroom) sample sale will feature striped separates, dipped hem maxi dresses and everything else you’ll need to refresh your spring wardy. 
  2. Clean out your closet & sell your barely-worn designer pieces for new classics. In MG Closet, I have 3 pairs of Dolce & Gabbana boots that have been worn less than a handful of times. I’m selling them for a new statement bag in my current fav color – tangerine.
  3. Start a new tradition this Easter. Midtown Chap & I will be adding some new dishes to our Easter dinner, that way we can make our own special memories for this lovely holiday.
