Okay…

So far I have bought 2 Xmas gifts. (Ok 3, but I decided one was more MG style, so I kept it LOL!).

But there are a few dolls I still have to get gifts for and it is driving me mad bc I have NO idea what to get them…Why?

Because
:
  • When I ask them what they want, they reply “Ohh, nothing“. (LIES!!)
  • Their personal style leans toward the Higher rather than Middle/Lower ends. (Bergdorf Beotches!)
  • I want to give them something unique and unpredictable. (Vintage Anyone?)
So what better place to find a special little something, than at -

Sooo…
For me, the past few Thanksgivings have been quite different from each other:

One year I decided to prepare a full Thanksgiving meal in my tiny NYC apt kitchen. Mom repeatedly asked me the whole time if I had felt claustrophobic living in my apt. It didn’t help that with the oven on all day, it made the entire place hot as hell & super uncomfortable.

To top it off, since I own a limited number of dinnerware place settings, I had to continuously wash dishes after the appetizers and until dessert.

Chinet anyone?
Another year, the fam & I decided to take a break from the traditional full-day-o-cookin’ and opted for a fantastic Thanksgiving meal at a fabulous Italian resty in Midtown – complete with fresh mozzarella made at the table!

Can’t get more fresher (or easier) than that folks ;-)
Then last year, I spent Thanksgiving day in the hospital with my mom since she had just suffered a stroke on the 22nd of Nov. Worst Thanksgiving (& year) ever
This Thanksgiving, I am hauling Midtown Pups & myself to my parents house to spend it with them. All I have to do is – SHOW UP, lol!

Crossing my fingers that they will have the fried shrimp & ribs I requested as part of my fav additions to the traditional Turkey feast (sorry – sooo NOT a fan of Turkey!)…

And this year, I am thankful that my mom is home & healthy and that I can spend the holiday the way is should be spent…with my family ;-)

Midtown Girl & Midtown Pups wish you & your fabulous families a wonderful, happy & healthy Thanksgiving holiday.

Sooo thankful to have you dahlings as part of our extended family – kissies for everyone!!!

Thanksgiving love,

Happy Halloween Dahlings!!

So this weekend will be full of frights, sights and green cocktails (headaches x 100!!).

This Halloween I will be dressing up AGAIN as a Agent Sexy -
an undercover FBI Agent on the search to rid the city of all Haters and Naysayers - be gone beotches!

I say again bc I wore this costume to a party last yr and also the year before! But considering I won Skye’s “Sexiest Costume Award” 2 yrs ago (sexy w/o the hooker factor, thx), I think I can rock it just one more TA-HIME!

Plus different peeps will be at this party anyway so what’s the biggie, right?

Speaking of FRIGHTENING…Did you know that Manhattan has a HAUNTED HOUSE?!?! Ya, I didn’t either!

So if you are in the city, and feel like heading over to the Chelsea area – go visit “The Blood Manor” -
Blood Manor is a haunted attraction approximately 5,000 square feet with a labyrinth of dark corridors, mazes and 16 chambers of terror that will leave you running for your life! Travel through Disgraceland and the feeding frenzy in the Zombie Cabaret. And be very careful — Mary’s off her meds in the asylum from the motion picture Blood Night – The Legend of Mary Hatchet. Visit at your own risk!

What will you dahlings be doing for Halloween???

Weekend kissies,

p.s. – Did you know that the movie Paranormal Activity was budgeted at $15 k? And since it’s release had grossed almost $65 million – a 434,000% return. DAMN DAMN DAMN!

Weekend Recap: Pure FABULOSITY!

Wow – soo much fun with some FABULUSH peeps – girlfriends are so Ah-May-Zing!

Ok, so my weekend started super early with projects winding down early Friday aft. Before my birthday cocktail explosion on Saturday I had a much-needed, convo-saturated lunch @ Coffee Shop in Union Square with one on my bloggy – now IRL life – besties Monica from CiaoChessa.
Every time Monica & I get together, one convo leads to another to another to another & we end up talking about a million things. It’s so hilarious bc we have about 50 convos we have YET to finish – LOVE this girl x 100!

BTW – Monica knows Paris like the back of her hand & will be helping me plan my first trip to Le PARIS – EXCITED!!!

Then I had the pleasure of having dinner with the beautiful Wendy from Wendy Brandes Jewelry @ Park Avenue Autumn . Wendy gave me the nickname Jessica Rabbit (which I adore her forever for) & I shall now deem her my Lady in Red bc she wears the most gorgeous, perfect shade of red lipstick. I made her promise to take me red-lipstick shopping bc I NEED those amazing red lips!!

Btw – I will be doing a designer profile post on her later this week calledQueen of Tricked out Bling”. Yes, her designs are that FEROSH.

Fast Forward….

On Saturday for my Birthday celebration, some of my super-hottie NYU Alumna chickies came into la ciudad to celebrate with cocktails @ the Park in Chelsea.

Can I just tell you – even though we haven’t seen each other in what feels like ‘forever & a day’ – it’s as if we’ve never been apart. I effing love that!

Btw – blue-colored cocktails should be BANNED forevz- I’ll just rename them “headaches in a glass” from now on - yeesh.

Then on Sunday, my loving, awesomely-awesome parents drove in for a bday dinner @ Siniqual in Midtown. I inhaled my Lobster Enchiladas & Patron-Perfect Margaritas which was, well.. Perfect! And dangerously delish! Dinner was great and my parents are awesome – LOVE YOU TONS!

So now onto the…

Soo… just found out the Annual Macy’s Fireworks display will be set off the Hudson River, not off the East river (the usual locale, not very far from my apt).

Not sure why Macy’s decided to switch, but it pleases me to know that when I return to my apt after a friends 4th bash, I will not be hit in the face with the stench of urine, beer & sweaty peeps, many of whom, bc of the lack of McD’s bathrooms in the area, end up using the midtown streets as a toilet. Yum!

On those years when July 4th fell on a weekday, I would mute my T.V. (which was tuned in to NBC’s view of the fireworks show) just so that I could hear the fireworks go off simultaneously through my window. The only way I could actually see them from my apt, was if I squeezed myself between my bathroom wall & the toilet while contorting my body to the left – doing this so I would be able to look through the upper corner of my bathroom window. Not cool or fun.

In any case, if anyone is interested in getting a bird’s eye view of this year’s firework display, one suggestion is the fab celebration at the Hudson Terrace – one of my fav spots:

Have a wonderful & safe 4th of July dahlings!!

Interesting.

A week before that last night out with CB, my protective female psyche had kicked in when CB had asked me what I would be doing on Valentine’s Day. I told him I had made plans ahead of time with my single gf’s to go out. Which isn’t really untrue, bc they are going out, I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to go out in general.

See, I wasn’t sure where CB & I would be dating-wise on V-Day and just in case, I didn’t want to commit to plans with someone I may not want to have plans with – instincts are a saving grace!

So my plans for Sat were still in limbo, when, out of no where V.G. (Valentine’s Day Guy) gives me a call. V.G. is a guy I had went out with quite some time ago and hadn’t spoken to since. It’s not that he wasn’t nice/attractive/intelligent, etc., there just wasn’t any real connection. Which is fine. But now he’s calling me to ask if I have plans on V-Day (which I really don’t) and if we can go out for dinner.

He’s a good person (I think so anyway) but I have no interest in pursuing any type of relationship whatsoever with him…but it was sweet for him to ask me out for Sat right?? And clearly he doesn’t have anyone in his life he’s interested in going out with, so would it be so terrible if I said yes???

Your thoughts darlings?
