Midtown Girl by Amy Chandra - Thanksgiving Cocktails, American in Paris Cocktail

If you’re a fan of the Manhattan cocktail, then this recipe is for you! A French take on a New York classic, the American in Paris cocktail adds a touch of black current liqueur (instead of bitters). This is the cocktail for a holiday hostess throwing a glamorous Thanksgiving dinner party.

‘American in Paris’ cocktail recipe:

  • 1 1/2 ounces bourbon
  • 1/2 ounce dry vermouth
  • 1/2 ounce creme de cassis (black current liqueur)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Combine ingredients with ice and shake. Pour in a pretty glass and garnish with a lemon slice (prettier than a wedge).

MG Tip: If you can’t find black current liqueur, try muddling fresh black berries with simply syrup & strain through a sieve.
