If you love home decor as much as MG, then this will be fun. I randomly found this Ethan Allen* quiz during one of my 2am online shopping rituals and thought it was uber cute (and actually tapped into my design aesthetic). Super easy, you click on one of two pics shown through a series and at the end, you’ll find out your “signature design style”.

My fav way to organize a home office is with chic desk accessories. I use gift boxes to organize the inside of my desk drawers and to store beauty products. Since I like to display my fav beauty items & go-to accessories like statement bracelets & rings, I wanted something that was pretty, affordable & easy to change according to my decor mood. I found these Hollywood Glam gift boxes at my local 99 cents store. Yes, the 99 cents store (retail stores charge up to $10 for boxes like these, so I’m glad I got 2). They were a dollar each, look fabulush and when I get tired of the style (doubt it) I can change it as often as I wish.

If you’re like MG and can distinguish a damask from a lattice pattern, you will totes love these preppy chic home office accessories. Last fall,  I was lucky to receive  New York Magazine’s Design Hunting home decor mag. I use this mag as a dream guide to give me ideas on decorating my apartment. One of the articles highlighted a woman who redecorated her super tiny apt on the Lower East Side using various items ranging from vintage to event swag. One item that stood out to me was a hanging bird cage she had purchased from PB Teen. YES, PB Teen!! I checked out their site and totes fell in love with their pretty preppy accessories.

Here are my fav preppy accessories that will update your home office for 2013…

Art is a fabulush way to decorate your home office or living space but sometimes it can be costly. A great place to find affordable art is etsy and a new fav, 20×200. Another great, affordable option is to hang your personal/family photos or fashion inspirations. One of my fav ways of hanging art is to combine multiple small pieces into one main wall centerpiece. Using a a monochromatic color scheme with black & white photographs (with matching b&w frames), you can convert wall space into an uber chic custom masterpiece. Get to work dahlings!

Wall decal calendars are such a great idea for the home office, espesh if you’re an NYC apartment renter or have a small living space. There’s no damage to the walls, it’s dry erase so you can use it over and over again & it just looks super professional. I have my eye on the one above by simple shapes, bc you can customize the color (I want it in mint green to go with my pink desk). Decal calendars are perf for #NYFW (to organize your daily outfits) and as a blog editorial calendar

When I was a little girl, I had a vanity desk. It was one of my favorite things in the whole world. As an adult, I have always wanted a beautiful vanity to sit at & try out makeup looks. Because NYC apartments run on the smaller side, it’s not likely you could fit both a vanity & an office desk. So why not merge the two! This is totes what I did and now, not only do I have a fabulush (pink!) vintage desk to work at, I also have a place to apply makeup & store jewelry. When my apartment office redo is finished, I will totes share pics with you lovelies.

I’m sure you dahlings know how much I love tufted furniture, right? For my MG Living Room redo, I am replacing a desk in the corner of the room with 2 tufted chairs (similar to this pink Hollywood Regency chair above) and a small table. Color & size are very important factors when choosing the right chairs, because I don’t have a proper dining space (not even close). This new sitting area will serve as a spot for morning coffee, high-tea & evening apéritifs - fabulush!

Dahlings, do you have a favorite sitting area in your home?
