Every New York apartment should have decor that reflects a personal journey. Enter Novogratz new Brasil collection with CB2, featuring pieces by design duo Bob and Cortney Novogratz. The Brasil collection includes furniture, accessories, décor and lighting inspired by the Novogratz’s tree house vacation home in Trancoso, Brasil. At MG, we love bold colors & print, and this collection delivers on both. Check out MG’s fav pieces below…
If you love home decor as much as MG, then this will be fun. I randomly found this Ethan Allen* quiz during one of my 2am online shopping rituals and thought it was uber cute (and actually tapped into my design aesthetic). Super easy, you click on one of two pics shown through a series and at the end, you’ll find out your “signature design style”.
My fav way to organize a home office is with chic desk accessories. I use gift boxes to organize the inside of my desk drawers and to store beauty products. Since I like to display my fav beauty items & go-to accessories like statement bracelets & rings, I wanted something that was pretty, affordable & easy to change according to my decor mood. I found these Hollywood Glam gift boxes at my local 99 cents store. Yes, the 99 cents store (retail stores charge up to $10 for boxes like these, so I’m glad I got 2). They were a dollar each, look fabulush and when I get tired of the style (doubt it) I can change it as often as I wish.
If you’re like MG and can distinguish a damask from a lattice pattern, you will totes love these preppy chic home office accessories. Last fall, I was lucky to receive New York Magazine’s Design Hunting home decor mag. I use this mag as a dream guide to give me ideas on decorating my apartment. One of the articles highlighted a woman who redecorated her super tiny apt on the Lower East Side using various items ranging from vintage to event swag. One item that stood out to me was a hanging bird cage she had purchased from PB Teen. YES, PB Teen!! I checked out their site and totes fell in love with their pretty preppy accessories.
If you are a fan of anything monogrammed and preppy chic, C. Wonder is totes your go-to store. With a brand new flag ship store located at The Shops at Columbus Circle, you can find a huge selection of bold accessories, vibrant clothes, gorgeous statement shoes and colorful home decor. NYC Fashion bloggers & editors were treated to a fabulush bus tour ride to the new location, gifted lovely branded cosmetic purses & given a first glance into the store filled with future must haves…

I’m still deciding on how to decorate my office wall. Wall art is so important bc not only do you have to look at it everyday, it should be something that offers inspiration & a positive visual aesthetic.
Last week I had the opp to visit the Kensie Clothing showroom in Midtown and in it had a wall covered in plates. Yes, plates. I never thought about hanging plates on a wall, but their showroom totes inspired me to try this in my apt. This is a great decor idea for NYC renters, since wall color is often a dilemma (most landlords want tenants to keep the standard ecru wall color – boring!). You can use any type/shape/designed plate (I would recommend a lightweight set) and can change the style as often as you want. How Midtown Chic is that?!
Art is a fabulush way to decorate your home office or living space but sometimes it can be costly. A great place to find affordable art is etsy and a new fav, 20×200. Another great, affordable option is to hang your personal/family photos or fashion inspirations. One of my fav ways of hanging art is to combine multiple small pieces into one main wall centerpiece. Using a a monochromatic color scheme with black & white photographs (with matching b&w frames), you can convert wall space into an uber chic custom masterpiece. Get to work dahlings!
