Hosted by American Express and moderated by Jennine Jacob (founder of Independent Fashion Bloggers), IFB members had the rare opportunity to sit in with Fern Mallis, Senior VP of IMG Fashion & creator of New York Fashion Week, for a “Tweetup in the Tents” event.

Since New York Fashion Week’s Fall Winter 2010 Show was the final one held at the Bryant Park Tents, it was befitting that Fern shared with us one of her favorite fashion moments held under the BP Tents….

Thank you to Jennine & Fern for this insightful Tweet up Event!

I will miss NYFW’s historical Midtown location!!!
Farewell fashion kissies,

p.s. – don’t forget to check out more Tweetup pics in my last post here ;-) XOXO

Designer Amy Smilovic played with different textures & fabrics in Tibi’s FW10 Collection. Some of my favorite pairings were the layering of long sleeve tee’s underneath silk sheath dresses & bustiers.

From the sharp tweed jacket paired with a ruffled ascot blouse, a strapless maroon dress with its structured top and playful pleated skirt, to the various studded & leather details, Smilovoc’s designs were a play on opposites.

Mr. Miele’s FW10 Collection, inspired by the Amazon, combined various textures of black with vibrant pops of color. From short & form-fitted dresses to cropped fur toppers, his collection offered various designs that could easily transition from day to evening wear.

Sequined pieces, asymmetrical cuts, zipper-like patterns and lace insets were some of the delicate details that made this collection an uber pretty one.

Greek Designer, Vassilios Kostetsos’ FW10 Collection was AH-MAY-ZING. The last show held that day, the audience went into the show exhausted, but left completely exhilarated.

Using different textures & fabrics in bold colors & cuts, each design embraced lux details. From fabulous dresses with snake skin panels, trench coats with patent leather corset belts, bold red & royal blue leather trenches, many of the designs were accessorized with gorgeous OTK boots in a variety of versions including glorious suede, snake skin & leather.

My favorite accessory in his collection were the arm length cuffs, in both the gold & red – stunning!

The Lela Rose FW10 Collection reminded me of what a futuristic, ready-to-wear line should look like – not overdone & designed in such a manner that each piece can easily be worn and integrated into one’s existing wardrobe.
Combining a mixture of shiny fabrics with various pops of color – my favorite being the deep coral – the collection plays with sci-fi textures cut in designs that are easily appropriate for a semi-formal /formal occasion.

You know something’s uber-POPULAR when they start mocking about it in commercials

And when you add character representation using SHOES?!

Well then, that’s just pure Marketing Genius.

The MadMen who came up with DSW’s new ‘shoe-dating commercials KNOW their shiz when it comes to online-dating

Because THIS totally does happen!

Online-Profile Misrepresentation…a.k.a B.S.!

Btw…what shoes do YOU dahlings wear on a first date?

Ok, I HAD to do a post on this Cah-Ray-Zee chick bc I was born & raised on Staten Island (one of the 5 NYC boroughs, for those who’ve never heard) and lived there until 17 – the age I started undergrad at NYU & moved into the city. Thank GOD.

Besides ranting about how much she hates, EVERYTHING, this S.I. Bridezilla is obsessed with money and how much everything costs

This crazyee beoyatch represents everything that is wrong with Shao-Lin.

In one moment, she refuses to apologize to the doorman @ Marqee in Chelsea, bc he won’t let her come into the club with her bridal head gear (veil). She blasts him with a bitch-ass response, which in turn makes him refuse to let her & her bridal party into the club…

Enjoy lovelies!

Thoughts???
