Located in Hell’s Kitchen, the Sushi Seki Times Square location offer diners an authentic Japanese cuisine experience via their Kappo Room. Meaning “to cut” and “to cook”, at the Kappo Room you can dine at a table or at their Kappo Counter (7 seats available) and order from a seasonal a la carte menu or the Omakase menu (chef selected dishes). We ordered from the a la carte menu which offers up small plates, hot pot (nabe), noodles and more. Each dish was flavorful & delicate, a lovely combination when tasting multiple dishes.
Fried Oyster with tomato tartar
Standout dishes include the filet mignon cubed steak paired with a Japanese hatcho miso (made with a yeast starter that dates back 400 years!). Seki’s GM, Yasu Suzuki, paired this dish with a sake that complimented the filet perfectly . Another standout was the duck & tofu in sweet dashi broth, a delicious & comforting dish with substantial portions of tofu.
