There are New York restaurants that are really good and then there ones that are fabulush. Marea is fabulush. Located on tony 240 Central Park South, you have probably passed by this resty while heading to Central Park or en route to The Plaza. Chef Michael White features a menu filled with elegant Italian seafood dishes including handmade pastas, fresh crudo & whole fish. Dress code is casual elegant, so make sure you dress to impress. Dahling Midtown Chap took me to Marea for my birthday last month & our dining experience was amazing. Check out what we had below…
Best seats in the house (perf for my bday), corner banquette.
Portofino cocktail – belvedere orange vodka, campari, acqua di cedro, aranciata
Baccala – housemade salt cod mantecato
Polipo – grilled octopus, smoked potatoes, pickled red onions, radish, chilies, tonnato
Astice – nova scotia lobster, burrata, eggplant al funghetto, basil
Whole Branzino (priced per pound) – wild bass (italy) salt baked
Sides – roasted beets w. ricotta salata, fingerling potatoes w. rosemary
If a brunch date is more your taste, Marea also offers a $42 two-course prix fixe brunch, avail on Sundays from 11:30am-2:30pm. You can make rezzies here.
