Hi Midtown Girl,

I have a first date tomorrow night with an actress who seems to love beer.  In almost every facebook photo she is holding a beer when she is out.  Do you have any ideas where I should take her?  And what would you recommend this 42 yr old executive wear.  Business clothing no problem, date clothing no idea.

Thanks for the question! Ok, if your date is a beer-type of gal, then I would definitely suggest you go to a rooftop bar, espesh since it’s summer. Here are some great rooftop spots that have a good selection of beer as well as wine & cocktails. 

Chelsea – Birreria at Eataly, 200 5th Ave, 212.229.2560

Midtown – Top of the Strand, Strand Hotel, 33 West 37th St.

Meatpacking – The Standard Plaza, 848 Washington Street, 212.645.4646

For your date night outfit, I would go casual but polished. Since you prob have the basic wardrobe staples, I would go with a lighter, brighter colored version of each. Below is a great outfit for a summer date night!

2. Lightweight, classic fit polo shirt

3. Darkwash bootcut jeans

4. Light colored suede loafers
