Is there a specific “type” that runs rampant in your city? How would you describe the ‘dating scene’ in your city?
Once you find the available and willing men, it’s merely a process of finding the right one. On the plus side, most guys are pretty friendly and social, with busy schedules and friends of their own that tend to enhance your social life. In addition, many make pretty good salaries (it costs a lot for a company to move someone here, so most tend to be high-ranking/important). However, one significant minus is that commitment-phobia runs high in this town. Why else would you move to a new continent by yourself if you weren’t content being alone and not interested in settling down? And, like LA for Liz, there’s the constant problem of having too many options!
Too many: men that only date locals, anyone whose English isn’t up to par (mostly French guys), anyone whose pants are too tight.
This is a pic from a recent date. We couldn’t find a taxi home, so I sat on one until we did. Yes, taxis are red here.
what an interesting post. i would imagine there are competitions from local gals wanting to date foreigners in HK.
look at how cute you are K!!! I would love to visit someday…it sounds like a really cool place!
Yay! Thanks so much for having me. It let me live out a few of my single fantasies for the afternoon
K, I'm very interested to know where the dating goldmine is in HK as I'd love to pass on the info to my Girlies. Many of my single friends have complained about the fiercely competitive dating scene over here and the sad buggers they end up meeting LOL!
Ohhh awesome!! I love Hong Kong and ADORE K! This is so cool!
Great post. That's really cool. I enjoyed reading that.
Great pics..and I am long out of that dating game..although I loved it at the time. One man to avoid: Any man who calls his ex girlfriend or wife a bitch. If he talks bad about them, he will talk bad about you honey. Plus, it is poor form.
FriendzCentury, feel free to email me! Happy to chat

Another great interview, MG!!
It sounds like such a happening place! I also think K has sexy legs and needs to show them off more!
Great interview Ladies!
You have some beautiful pictures here. Great post!
Hooray! I love Blog Googles, I love Hong Kong and I love dating! I think to keep the romance alive when you've been married for nearly five years (coming up in October) is to go on dates with one another.
What sort of guys do you try to avoid like the plague?
OTIN! LMAO!
Love the new look!
I've always wanted to go to Hong Kong! It looks like so much fun!
Ooh, loved K's post and this site – sigh, miss t my hometown.
I gotta agree based on what I hear from friends – lots of skanky, rich guys or guys looking to date locals, but more selection based on location.
So fun, I think London would be an interesting scene as well – so many single people here and the girls DRESS UP for clubs (albeit based on my 1 club experience where part of the crowd was fashion week models).
LOVE the new format here, doll! can so appreciate it more than on the bb screen:) and I adore this series…even though I'm a married lady I love hearing about all of these fabulous places. xoxo
love the new blog look, it looks fantastic!
What a great feature, so interesting to read. I've never been to Hong Kong but definitely on my list of places to visit someday.
WOW…Sounds awesome living in Hong Kong! Cool blog!
Awesome post K! I so want to visit HK. I wonder what the scene is like for those who are local and date local guys?
Hong Kong is so close to my original home but I never got a chance to go there. Maybe next time I'll swing by =). Great insights K!
HK is definitely not a great place for dating if you’re female and not a local. The tables are turned against foreign women in this city as there are a surplus of asian hotties all too willing to throw themselves at foreign men. I grew up in HK, and I’ve seen it happen over and over. Expat marriages and relationships eventually break up because there way more options. Options that are younger, hotter, and less demanding.
